This workshop is designed to help nonprofit arts executives and trustees with motivation and direction for Boards of Directors. Speakers will cover roles and responsibilities, governance vs. micro-management, Give-or-Get policies, recruitment and retirement, and other topics applicable to boards of all sizes and maturities. The matrix for building your board. Suggestions for better board meetings. What about Committees. Their elevator speech. Founding vs. working vs. governing Boards. The succession plan. Evaluation.

Come with questions, leave with resources. All participants are invited to submit a question in advance; the workshop will feature “20/20” solutions—suggestions addressing 20 problems in 20 minutes—as well as an open, brain-storming discussion of shared challenges.
